This Infusion Nurses Society virtual symposium addresses 5 challenging aspects involved in the delivery of infusion therapy: managing infusion reactions, preserving skin integrity, identifying and intervening with infiltrations and extravasations, and recognizing and managing implanted port complications and competency validation.
At the conclusion of this virtual symposium, learners will be able to:
- Discuss prompt, accurate assessment and management of infusion-related reactions
- Describe challenges in maintaining skin integrity and how to intervene when complications occur
- Articulate prevention, assessment, and methods used to intervene when various medications infiltrate or extravasate
- Identify various types of implanted ports, use and maintenance, possible complications, practices aimed to reduce the risk of complications, and ways to intervene when complications occur
- Describe ways to manage initial competency and ongoing competency
This will be an informative and beneficial symposium for all infusion professionals and learners will have the ability to view anything they miss on-demand!
